The best Draven build paths and itemization have become quite versatile in League of Legends season 14. The Glorious Executioner can champion a Lethality or a full Crit build depending on the situation, or even go for a hybrid of the two.
He pairs incredibly well with engage supports that have a ton of hard CC. Although he has a very high-risk high-reward playstyle, Draven is incredibly rewarding once you get used to his kit.
When he starts cashing in his Adoration stacks he can take over games. He is an ADC who can completely snowball a match with some early kills and a Gold advantage. So, if you have an aggressive playstyle, Draven will let you climb the competitive ladder effortlessly.

Draven Pros and Cons in League of Legends Season 14
Pros:
- Draven is one of the best ADCs in Riot’s MOBA who can snowball a game after getting early kills. Cashing in his Adoration stacks gives him a significant Gold advantage that lets him hit his item spikes earlier.
- The Glorious Executioner has amazing kill pressure in the laning phase. Supports like Leona, Nautilus, Rakan, and Blitzcrank let him have a much easier time in the early game. As they come with a lot of hard CC they help Draven get early leads through kills or tower plates.
- Draven can melt through the enemy frontline once he starts getting his item spikes. If you are consistently getting kills and cashing in on your adoration stacks, Draven’s core build makes him one of the most fun ADCs to play when ahead.
Cons:
- Draven has a very high-risk high-reward playstyle that makes him difficult to learn. He is not recommended for players who are new to the ADC role. He takes a fair bit of getting used to before you can successfully catch his axes while kiting.
- Draven is not a fun champion when he is behind. It’s almost impossible to get back into the game if he loses out on early gold advantages. This is primarily because compared to the traditional ADCs he falls off pretty hard the later a game goes. The strategy with him is to close games as soon as possible.
- Draven is quite squishy with low mobility. He can be very easily engaged on and locked down with hard CC. This makes him susceptible to well-time ganks and flanks from the enemy during teamfights.
How to play Draven: Tips and Tricks for League of Legends Season 14

Early Game:
- Draven’s early game will all be about gaining early advantages and getting his build online. Hitting your core items as soon as possible will let you close out games or even force the enemy to surrender at 15.
- If you have an engage support like Leona by your side, you will have amazing kill pressure. So as soon as you hit level 3 look to all in on the enemy bot lane. This will either result you in getting a kill cash in on your stacks or blow their summoners. The latter will make it easier for your juggler to get repeat ganks.
- Don’t push up the lane too much if you are not aware of the enemy jungle pathing. While securing tower plates is important, don’t overforce your hand. Draven is squishy and can be locked down with hard CC. Dying unnecessarily will make you lose your stacks delaying your item spikes.
Mid Game
- During the Mid Game rotate around the map a bit to look for plays and set up for objectives. Gain some Mid Lane prio and threaten tower damage forcing the enemy to respond to your push. This will free up the rest of your team to position for the Herald and Drake.
- Always look for a fight with Draven. Draven’s early-to-mid power spike is phenomenal and by getting more kills he just keeps snowballing and extending leads. So if your team is posturing for a fight, don’t sit in lane and farm. Always look to cash in stacks when the opportunity presents itself.
- Positioning is very important with Draven. Catching your axes is key when it comes to maintaining his DPS uptime. However, this also makes him vulnerable as enemies will be able to predict where you are going to step next. So spend some time learning how to position and kite with him.
Late Game
- Late Game gets a bit harder for Draven. So if you have not been able to close out the game by now, you are going to struggle a fair bit. Draven falls off a fair bit compared to other traditional ADCs and it’s primarily because of his shorter range and lack of mobility.
- The enemy team will always look to focus their CC on you in teamfights. So positioning becomes incredibly important at this stage. Don’t try to be too aggressive if the enemy champions have all their buttons up. Go in only their CC tools are exhausted.
- Draven’s build and items make him decent at securing objectives. While he is not a hyper carry he still does a good job getting Baron and Elder Drake. Look to threaten objective takes to force the enemy into reacting. This will often throw them off their game.
