Dragon Ball Sparking Zero has over 182 playable characters that you will be able to unlock as you make your way through the various Episodes and chapters. Many of the characters including transformations as well as variants will not be available from the get-go, and you will need to unlock them through certain means.
While getting some characters is as simple as purchasing them with Zeni, others are specific to certain conditions, like unlocking them through a with from Super Shenron.
Here is a guide on how you will be able to unlock every available character in the arena fighter.
How to get new characters in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero
The majority of the characters in Sparking Zero are unlocked through completing various missions and sagas in Episode Battles. You will get most of the roster by just completing the quests, so just make sure you are finishing everyone’s story mode.
Completing Zen-Oh’s missions and coming first in Tournament battles will also unlock characters for you. So make sure you are running them once the story missions are complete.
You can also unlock what-if scenarios in Episode Battles (like saving Yamcha) and unlock special characters from there.
Apart from story missions, another very reliable way of getting new characters and variants is to use Zeni to purchase them from the shop.
Beyond these methods, you will get specific characters like Goku Black by wishing him from Super Shenron. However, you will need to collect all of his seven Dragon Balls first.
